Manon Schonewille

After
graduation of the law faculty of Groningen University in the
Netherlands, Manon worked in international marketing and business
strategy in several countries for multinational organizations among
which Nestlé and Schering. Here the foundation was laid for her
interest in international conflict management.
She completed the Negotiation and Advanced Negotiation courses as
part of the Program of Instruction for Lawyers at Harvard Law School
(USA). At the National Conflict Resolution Center (NCRC) in San
Diego (USA), she gained practical mediation experience in the USA
and successfully completed the credentialing program.
Besides training professionals in the advanced use of mediation and
negotiation techniques all over the world, Manon consults
corporations and governmental organizations in conflict management
and setting up ADR programs. Most recently as Key ADR Expert in the
European Commission sponsored project ‘Technical Assistance for
Better Access to Justice’ in Turkey and in the Europe-wide civil
justice project ‘Lawyers in ADR’, as well as in the Administration
of Justice Program in Barbados.

Utrecht University where she also conducts research for her PHD
thesis on deal facilitation.

One of the assessors for the certification of mediators for the Netherlands Mediation Institute (NMI register mediator)
Chair of IMI's Mediation Advocacy Task Force.
